Chemokines Control Monocyte Homeostasis Under Steady State and in Hypercholesterolemia

چکیده

Monocytes and macrophages are abundantly present in both human atherosclerotic plaques and lesions obtained from animal models. Direct evidence for the importance of monocytes in atherogenesis could be demonstrated in a study where their depletion reduced the plaque formation in rabbits. Three principal monocyte subsets (named classical, intermediate, and nonclassical) have been described in mice and man. In humans, monocytes can be differentiated based on the expression of CD14 and CD16. Classical monocytes are defined as CD14CD16, intermediate monocytes as CD14CD16, whereas nonclassical monocytes are CD14CD16. In mice, CD115 monocyte subsets are mainly discriminated based on the expression of lymphocyte antigen 6C (Ly6C) but also CD43. Monocytes being Ly6CCD43 are CX 3 CR1CCR2 and thought to correspond to human classical monocytes. In contrast, murine Ly6CCD43 monocytes being CX 3 CR1CCR2 are phenotypic equivalents of human nonclassical monocytes. Of note, although yet unconfirmed, a recent study provides evidence for classical monocytes to be of dominant importance in atherogenesis and progression as compared with their nonclassical counterparts in mice.

Chemokines in children with heterozygous familiar hypercholesterolemia: selective upregulation of RANTES.

OBJECTIVE Increasing data support the involvement of chemokines in atherogenesis. However, although several studies have shown increased chemokine levels in adult patients, the literature is virtually devoid of data on chemokines in children with hypercholesterolemia. METHODS AND RESULTS We examined the gene expression of chemokines in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from clinicall...

Experimental Study and steady state stability analysis of CLL-T Series Parallel Resonant Converter with Fuzzy controller using State Space Analysis

This paper presents a Closed Loop CLL-T (capacitor inductor inductor) Series Parallel Resonant Converter (SPRC) has been simulated and the performance is analysised. A three element CLL-T SPRC working under load independent operation (voltage type and current type load) is presented in this paper. The Steady state Stability Analysis of CLL-T SPRC has been developed using State Space technique a...

Distribution of porcine monocytes in different lymphoid tissues and the lungs during experimental Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae infection and the role of chemokines

Monocytes play an essential role in the defense against bacterial pathogens. Bone marrow (BM) and peripheral blood (PB) monocytes in pigs consist of the main "steady-state" subpopulations: CD14 hi/CD163-/SLA-DR- and CD14 low/CD163+/SLA-DR+. During inflammation, the subpopulation of "inflammatory" monocytes expressing very high levels of CD163, but lacking the SLA-DR molecule (being CD14 low/CD1...

Dynamic Simulation and Control of the Demethanizer Unit in Natural Gas Refining Plant

The NGL refinery of the Sirri Island has a major role in the production of high-value products. One of the most important refinery units is the demethanizer unit, comprising of a complex network of distillation towers and heat exchangers. In the first step, using the Aspen Hysys software, a proper steady state model was developed for this unit in which the simulation of the main equipment that ...
